Programs at CTRH are designed to meet the needs of children and adults with disabilities or unique challenges, helping them to achieve a greater quality of life through equine-assisted activities and therapies, which utilize horses to help promote mental wellness, emotional growth, and physical strength.

Participants develop horsemanship skills while simultaneously experiencing the joy of riding and accruing therapeutic benefits both cognitive and physical. Additionally, participants learn how to care for horses and benefit emotionally from the bond they form with them.

A treatment strategy in which the movement of the horse is utilized by specially trained, certified occupational therapists, physical therapists, and speech-language pathologists to address a variety of impairments and limitations with the goal of achieving functional outcomes.

For 33 years, clients have come to CTRH to experience the benefits of equine-assisted activities and therapies, but what about those clients who can’t make the trip?
